We have a VIP in the family

While Jersey was off track from School. She kept telling me that when she got back to school that she was the VIP {Very Important Person} I asked if there was a note sent home to explain what being a VIP meant. Did it mean that I had to rent a limo and have her show up walking out of it? Or dress her in diamonds and furs? I was clueless on what it all meant. So last Monday morning she says "mom aren't you going to come to my school to help with my VIP?" {I'm still in my jams} Oh yes right. I hurried and grabbed some baby photos. Jersey had already gathered items of importance to her and we went to school.
The pictures were to be placed on a bulletin board in the classroom. I didn't have time to do this since Phoenix was a sleep at home. I didn't want to be gone to long and then have him wake up scared. I asked the teacher that instead of Tuesday, when were suppose to come and talk about Jersey, that we could come on Wednesday when her dad was home. Jersey wanted us to bring treats for the class. We brought marshmallow squares. We took in her giant Mutton bustin' championship trophy and some notes on what we wanted to say about our little gal.
The teacher had set up the class facing the bulletin board. With chairs for Mike and I and Jersey. So told a little bit about Jersey. How she is always smiling, she is an active kid, loves her brother and her bike and the monkey bars. We talked about her love for animals and how she wishes we could have a horse for her backyard. Then we let the class some questions to us about her and to Jersey about her favorite vacation and her favorite food. Afterwards the children went around the room saying what they liked best about Jersey. The majority said that they liked how she was a friend to everyone and she was funny and they loved being around her. I think that is Very Important.
Jersey use to get upset that she didn't have that ONE best friend. I would tell her before she would leave school that she should be a friend to everyone no matter what. I suppose my advice has rubbed off because that is what everyone loves about her. {one point for mom} She really is a good daughter. She is happy {except for when it's time to clean her room} I could have asked for anyone else.
I am pretty proud of my little VIP.
