We have been counting down the day for this magical night to happen.
We went a bit budget with our costumes this year. I didn't want to spend $40 on a costume that they wouldn't wear again. Phoenix wanted to be a ghost and Jersey a fairy. I had the halloween makeup from last year when it was on clearance so I believe I spent $20 total. So much better.
I took the day off. So I could go to the kids activities at the school. I love that there is a Halloween parade, I remember doing that as kid. After school I put their face paint on and we went out trick or treating up through the neighborhood. Most families were out. We had to hurry because we needed to get to my sister in laws house for some more fun. When we got there all the cousins went out, the kids came back with so much candy. At our house we put all the candy in a jar and I let the kids have few pieces at a time. We try to save for when we go on vacation. I think it is a bit funny I have trained my kids so well because they were telling their cousins about what we do. I don't let them trade or sort. It is a family jar of candy. I tend to find less candy wrappers around the house when I regulate it. Sometimes we get sick of it and it sits in the jar until Easter. We throw it out then.
