We are pretty lucky, living in Utah, you get some special opportunities. Not trying to brag about the goodness of Utah. But Wednesday was one of those days that makes you happy you live here. The Oquirrh(oak-cur) Mountain Temple opened to the public for it's open house. When I was younger we never went to an open house of the Temple. So this was my first experience to what happens. Granted I know what goes on in the Temple but I was excited for my children to feel that spirit of the Temple. We didn't go to the Draper Temple open house again I didn't know what to except at least for the kids. Of course I wasn't let down.
The Temple of course was amazing. I love that I have seen this temple from start to finish be built. While it was being built Jersey would say "Mom that is the Temple that I'm going to get married in." How fun for us to show her the inside. It is a smaller Temple than the ones I have been in before.

I was thinking of the mixture of the Temples is reminds me of. On the sides of the Temple remind me of the sides of the Mesa Temple, along with the staircase of the Mesa Temple. The front reminds me of the Salt Lake Temple and inside reminds me of the Snowflake Temple. The way the the endowment rooms are set up and the murals on the wall and sealing room was beautiful. It looked like the sealing room in the Snowflake Temple where my cousin was sealed. The celestial room was of course my favorite. The Chandelier was the six pointed star. Now that I have told you what it looks like and if you have been to those temples you won't need to go but you should it will be a wonderful experience.
As we were walking through you could just feel the peace that you get when you go to the Temple. Because we were with the children they were walking fast through each room while I wanted to take in the grandness of it all. They said they loved it. I can't wait until it is my turn to volunteer at the Temple so that I can admire the beauty even more.

when are you volunteering? we did during the VIP days & we're doing it again next month - it'd be fun if we were doing it on the same day!
Oh. . . Randy had fun playing soccer with Mike a few weeks back! Is Mike going to be playing with those guys?
