Two hours of fun!

This morning I woke up saying STOP!, with my arm out stretched, No one was in my room but apparently the stop was from my dream that I was having. I looked at the time and saw that it was 8am or so I thought. I guess I woke up Jersey because she came in and asked me a question. I looked at the time again and it was really 6:50am. Oh no, I thought, I lost sleep. I wanted to run this morning and since I was up I got ready to run. 6 miles of fun. In the warm muggy outside world. 
Once I got home I was sipping my protein shake looking at my garden and the delicious looking lettuce and spinach that was growing. Maybe after swimming lessons, I thought, I would make an awesome salad. 
At swimming lessons, I swam 1200m in 30min. I am a maniac all of a sudden with this training stuff. When we got home I was famished. I needed food. I just kept thinking about the homegrown lettuce and spinach. It couldn't be that hard to make a salad out it?
I had some raspberries and blueberries in the fridge. I have never made a vinaigrette but I thought I could do this. I did. I found a piece of chicken that I could grill up. Mix it all together and you get on delicious salad that could give Wendy's Berry Chicken salad a run for it's money. 
We have 22 days until the Herriman Triathlon! There are going to be many more 2 hours of fun!
p.s. I have cut my chocolate and candy intake to one per day. 
There might be something wrong with me.

8 weeks Baby!

Today begins the start of our 8 week training. Mike and I are training for two triathlons this summer. We have one at the end of July, which is the Herriman Black Ridge, it's the same one I did last year. Then we are also doing a race at Bear Lake at the end of August. I can't wait. The Bear Lake race is an Olympic distance which means it's a, mile swim, 25 mile bike and a 10k run. 
I feel bit crazy doing it but I think I will be all right. 
Today for training is strength training. Push ups and sit ups. Both of which I'm not good at. I will also be doing some swimming. 
After running Ragnar I feel I can do anything in the race category.

Back to the running

Run, Bike, Swim...repeat. That is our goal this summer. Mike and I are signed up for two Triathlons and a few running races. (yes we run for fun and have fun) 
The weather was really nice on Friday after I dropped Phoenix off at school. I had planned on swimming but the lanes were a bit crowd for my liking. Got home feeling bad that I didn't workout so I thought I would venture out onto the pavement. I haven't ran in 5 months. 5 months is a really long time not to run. I thought because I was swimming so much more that it wouldn't be that difficult. 
Oh my lungs felt the burn. Yes, it was sun shiny but there was also a wicked wind. (why is there always so much wind?) But once I got past my lungs hurting and my legs wobbling I was feeling good. Then I looked down at my time. I felt awful for the time I was getting. I had to keep telling myself. "Self it's been awhile. You will get better." My time was actually the same that it had always been 14 min miles. I went 2.5 miles that day. I paid for it all weekend. It's a good thing we have some good IB lying around the house. I'm just happy with myself that I got out there and did it. I have some time before I need to up my miles but you know it was a good start.
