you had a birthday!

On Friday the 23rd. Phoenix had his birthday! We were in Snowflake but that didn't stop us from making a cake and celebrating the day!

When the kids have a birthday I set out their presents on the table and then when they wake up in the morning they can see their bounty. Of course we had to bring gifts to Snowflake and I didn't wrap them but that didn't matter. Phe was thrilled. He got a few Lego sets and right way he wanted to put them together. I helped with one. Great Grandpa helped with another and Mike and Phe worked on another. I had one more Lego set in Utah so when we got home I gave that one to him. I was surprised but not shocked that he put the last Lego set together all by himself.
I made a Lego cake. I had seen the idea in a magazine and I wanted to try it myself. I was pleased with the results even though I'm not so great at frosting cakes.
I'm so happy that I have Phoenix in my life. He is a ray of sunshine in our family. He loves to sing and dance. I love it when we are driving in the car and he will here a song on the radio and say turn it up mom. Or he will say turn the ipod to some Michael Jackson.
He is starting school on Tuesday! I don't know what I'm going to do when my little buddy is gone.
