It's Rodeo time!

When it's time for the rodeo I feel my inner hick come out and want to cheer and scream for the cowboys and cowgirls. I love putting on "cowgirl" hat and strut my stuff. The rodeo is also a great time to watch other people (one of my favorite hobbies)

This rodeo year was extra special because Jersey participated in the mutton bustin'. She was so excited it was almost like Christmas. She had been planning her outfit for a week and knew that she couldn't be scared and that if she fell off to get right back up.

Mike took her over the shoots and watched her get in the shoot and sit on sheep. He said that when she was on there she was trying to hold on to the rail to get out she didn't want to do it anymore. She came flying out of the gate. She held on for a moment and then got thrown off the sheep. She hit the ground pretty hard but still it was a very brave thing she did. She got up and dusted herself off.

She received a trophy for participating, a rodeo bandanna and a gold one dollar. Oh she thought she was hot stuff. Even though she said that her head was hurting. Her cousins, Aunts and Uncles were so proud. Mike's sister Jen captured some great action shots which I will post at a later date.

After the rodeo was all over the Rodeo Queens were signing autographs. They helped the kids during the mutton bustin so they just thought Jersey was adorable. They each wrote a cute message to her on their picture.

Jersey will have some good dreams tonight.

Love the pics of you and your fam in your hats. That is so awesome that Jers rode the sheep, she is too cute!!! I will have to say I still have never been to a rodeo in my life. Maybe next year. We need to play.
