Is summer really over?

Our final days of Summer! So they say that Labor Day weekend is the official last weekend of the summer. I always wonder this to be true. I know that after Labor Day the weather starts to get cooler, kids go to school and it is almost time for Halloween. Is this way that we have to live our lives by what the media says? I guess, I jump on the band wagon thinking that Labor Day should have some significance other than the last day of summer. But I haven't found that yet. Plus any preconceived notions I had about holidays well Mike doesn't agree with them. Labor day to me is either go camping with family (which I did as a kid) or go spend some money on a big huge purchase. Since Mike was working on Monday and I really have no money for a huge purchase we did what any family does that doesn't want to spend money. Go to the park and enjoy the outdoors. The kids love going to the park and running around. Jersey was doing great on the monkey bars. Phoenix was playing in the drinking fountain and anybody that tried to bug him he would yell at them and point his finger. Where did he get that I wonder? Also to cap of a fabulous summer our neighbors hooked up there projector and stereo outside and we had a neighborhood movie night. It was great. I think that should be a running tradition on our street.
