field trip

For the last couple of weeks I have been watching my nieces while they are off track. We have done some fun things since they have been with me. We went Classic Skating and this week we went to the ZOO. It was really fun. It wasn't to hot but it was warm. We went with my friend Andrea and her kids. Jersey kept saying "mom let's go see the wolf pups." I don't believe that there were wolf pups but we did see tigers, bears oh my. We saw the Giraffes with Phoenix thought were the coolest. While we were looking at the Giant Tortoises. The male was in a pool of water and he came out so fast. I really never seen a tortoise move that fast. He got on top of the female tortoise and started make loud noises. All the adults new what was going on but the kids just looked at me and said "Rhiannon what is he doing?" It was quite the learning experience.

The other memorable moment at the Zoo is that I lost Phoenix. I was holding him and he acted like he wanted to play so I put him down. Next thing I know we are scouring the playground where were at looking for him. I checked the bat cave,the mallard pond, I crossed the train tracks looking around the water features thinking he has to be here. I must have looked like I was in shock because a lady said "Did you lose a little boy?" I said "yes" she said that her sister and taken Phoenix to the lost and found. I'm so glad that he was found. I think I should put a leash on Phoenix. When I went to get Phoenix he screamed MA MA! I held him so tight and he patted me on the back like he was telling me that it's OK MA!. I am glad that it was OK. Mike says that I shouldn't tell this story because it just makes me look bad. I don't think I did a whole lot wrong. I'm just glad that he was safe.
