Mr. Phe loves to repeat everything people say or relate things to movies and commercials. Like during football season, while watching the games, Phe would see the commercial about drinkability. So he would go around talking about drinkability. We told him that we didn't drink beer so we shouldn't say that. And the experts say that children aren't affect by commercials?
Another example is when we were in Arizona, we were talking to the kids about going to Disneyland. They were hearing commercials on the radio about winning a trip so they asked if we could go. We told them that we would go to Disneyland we Phe stopped wearing pull-ups. We would save the money from the pull-ups and put the money towards our Disneyland trip. Anytime we said "SAVE" he would say "the money you save with Geiko?" We couldn't stop laughing. Just to make sure we heard him right we said "save" again and he responded the same way.
Also if ever hears a R.C. Willey commercial he will say "Your home or way" after even before Paige Davis will say it.
The child must have some form of a photographic memory. He will give you a re-cap of a movie that he has just watch. If he hears a song on the radio or ipod, just by listening at the first few notes he knows the song. I am amazed.
Today though made think that we need to be better in what the kids watch. Both kids love to watch TMNT. We have the first and second one on videotape. You know the ones that you grew up with? Well I didn't realize it until the other day when the kids were watching that they say "Damn it" in the first movie. I pretty sure that movie is G or PG. Well Jers and Phe both think it is funny so they laugh. I asked them not to say it. I thought that they were over it but apparently not when my sister was driving in the car with them today Phe kept repeating and saying that it was a funny word. I guess TMNT will be finding a new home in the trash. I know I sound crazy because we have other movies that the same words in them or worse but this is a movie that is one repeat in this house. The other movies are not and besides I need an excuse to get rid of them. I think it's a pretty good excuse.
