Updates are a good thing

Since these last few months have been hectic. I figured I will give an update of the rest of May.
On Mother's Day weekend, we spent time together with Mike's Family. We came home from AZ and had a week to get everything in order. That meant carpet upstairs, furniture, pictures hung and the whole basement cleaned. We were debuting the house. Because I was moving housing accessories to the basement I of course had to go pick up some more. Since it was Mother's Day weekend and I always wanted a firepit I bought one. I'm amazed how much we have used it. We love to roast marshmellows and making sm'ores. But we had a great time with Mike's family over we didn't feel so crowded which was even better.

As a mother I feel so grateful for the chance I have to be a mother to my two sweet children. They are truly the best thing in my life. I'm so glad that they are good, friendly and helpful children. Even though sometimes I'm not the coolest mom, I'm glad that they still love me and say the most magical three words a child could say to you...."I love you"

Plus my own mother and mother in law are wonderful ladies. Even though I couldn't spend time with my mom I know she knows how much I love her and admirer. My mother in law has been there for me when my mom couldn't. I'm so grateful that she is my mom too.

The weekend following we had free tickets to Real Salt Lake soccer. We got two from Jersey's soccer league and two from her school. It had been 4 years since I had been to soccer game. I'm not a huge fan of soccer but I wanted to go to see the new stadium. We had a good time even though RSL lost. A free trip out on the town with the family......PRICELESS!
The week before Memorial Day weekend my mom told me that she and my dad are moving to the Marshall Islands. I was feeling sad that I needed to see my mom but knowing that flight prices would be outrageous, I asked my co-worker who can get buddy passes if I could get some passes. My mom said that she was needing help so what better time to go. Megan was having her open house and I could see Chicago one last time. Because to be honest I don't know when I will go again. The price to fly the three of us was so cheap I couldn't pass up the chance. Even though it was a holiday weekend I didn't think it would be all that busy if we were flying on a Saturday and coming home on Monday. Well we got to the airport super early. As were checking in a family of 5 basically took the last open spots that we were hoping to get on because we were flying stand-by we were looking for open sitting. But because it was early morning I was also hoping that some others wouldn't show up. So we waited, our luck up to this point was pretty good. But when they didn't call our names we ran out of the luck. The flight people told us that we could wait until 11am but it didn't look good either. So we waited, the children were really good. It's a good thing that the Utah Airport caters to families because I don't know what I would have done if there had been no play place. The second flight came and went with one open sit. That didn't really work for use being 3 stand-bys. Instead of spending the rest of the day at the airport, Mike picked us up and we headed home with sadness in our hearts that we couldn't go. The kids and I spent the rest of the day at Gardner Village. Since Monday I didn't have to work we went to the park. The two birds thought that was so fun. See I can be a fun mom sometimes.

Mike had to work the whole weekend but he did have plans for a relaxing weekend but we dashed those hopes.
