Next to Christmas, Halloween, my Birthday and Thanksgiving. I love the Fourth of July!
Rodeos, parades, patroitic songs, flags waving everywhere and fireworks. Love those fireworks.
We had a eventful day, we met up with Mike's sisters and parents to watch the West Jordan parade in the morning. We enjoyed that it was short and sweet. There were many other cultures that we represented in the parade. It makes you laugh to think about another culture in a Independence Day Parade but isn't that what America is all about? The diversity that we share. I'm so glad that we have the diversity because I would be really sad if there was not Chinese food or Mexican food.
They are staples in my household.
Great swing, watch the ball. |
Our Fireworks show |
We thought about going to the pool but cranky kids at the pool, make for an unhappy mama. We hung out at home until it was time to go to Auntie's for some delicious BBQ and family fun. My brother-in-law made a wiffle ball diamond in the grass in his yard so we broke up into teams to play wiffle ball but my MIL kept calling it waffle ball so it's waffle ball to the Nielsen clan. Our hosts live on a hill overlooking the valley. With the new fireworks laws, that anyone can shoot off fireworks that are aerial, it made for a good time to see the many, many, firework shows. We had our own firework show but it wasn't as grand as others. The kids still enjoyed it. Of course we couldn't forget sparklers.
That glowing building is the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. |
We had our own Lady Liberty |
Thanks America for having a birthday and for the freedom that you give to all.
