I'm not the greatest at sewing. Last month, I saw this fabulous skirt on the blog Sew Much Ado. I showed my friend Kristy and my SIL Heather and we wanted to make it. It was a long Maxi Skirt perfect for summer and also for the Sundays were you are to lazy to put an outfit together. We all went to Joann's to look for our material. I made mine a dark purple. The selection of knit was slim. I love my skirt though. I even had enough to make Jersey a matching skirt. After I made it I wore it to Church and Jersey wore hers. We were totally matching. Jersey was embarrassed to be by me.

With this new sewing skill I thought I would do more. Currently I'm working on dress that is super cute. My handy dandy SIL, that is fantastic at sewing, is doing the finishing parts like sleeves. I started to think of other things I had to finish. I once bought a bunch of material to make a Amy Butler purse. Well, I never made it but I had some fabric left over. I wanted to make a pretty blanket for my boss, who is having her baby today. I bought that minky fabric, that is really soft. I used the fabric I had and the minky fabric and made a cozy blanket. Jersey wanted me to make her one.

I love the blanket. Joe just bought me a sewing machine and you are inspiring me to start sewing something. btw - my vote is for blonde.
I think at least half of my fabric I have was purchased to sew something that never got sewn. :) Cute blanket. I want to see the skirts!
I long to sew in my life. Project Runway here you come.
I like that flower fabric. Where did you get it? And I want to see the skirts as well. I'm trying to get my craft room organized again so I can start doing SOMETHING/Anything in it.
