WOW what a Christmas Season

The lack of posts is, one because my arm is still in this cast but also because of all the Christmas Hullabaloo.

With all the snow that has falling in the last couple of days it has kept Mike at work with late nights. We also had a great time with my parents. They came on Tuesday and left on Friday to meet up with Dallin and Stacey in Mesa. Jersey and Phoenix were so excited to have Grandpa Gary and Grandma Laurie and Megan here. The kids would wake up early and play games with Grandpa. I was starting to wonder if they get neglected from me because they were just so excited to have people to play with.

Christmas Eve, we ate dinner with my in-laws and had a pipe bell performance. I think we will need to work on that a little more as a family but it was quite fun trying to play the pipe bells. Jersey as sang a few carols and my nieces played the recorders. When we got home from dinner we read the Christmas story and opened new jams. The kids were excited. We then sent them off to bed so Santa could come.

Mike and I finished wrapping presents and headed off to bed. Dreaming of not only a White Christmas but all the goodies Santa was to bring. He didn't disappoint though. Of course on Christmas Eve I can never sleep so I stayed up most of the night just lying in bed. When the alarm did go off I had finally gone to sleep. Our kids don't wake us up quite yet we have to wake them up. But we needed to get up early enough so that Mike could watch the kids before he had to leave to work. Phoenix was going nuts opening his gifts. He loved it. Jersey was also so excited by the many things she received. Both got more than they expected.

(I didn't get one picture of Christmas morning)

Later in the day it was time to go to my in-laws house. We woke up to lots and lots of snow. I didn't think it would be big deal but when I went outside and had 3 feet of snow on my driveway I wasn't looking forwarded to shoveling. Lucky my neighbor and my dad did it all. My Pilot was a champ driving over to my in-laws. Unfortunately because of all the snow Mike wasn't able to come home until late Christmas day. He was missed. But we were grateful when he came home to play with the kids and their new toys. I sure that most people had a crazy fast Christmas. I'm sure it was enjoyable. I am grateful for the season, for the time that I can spend remembering my Savior and his life. This season is fun to help the children understand the true meaning of Christmas.
