The Zoo

Yesterday was my work's day at the Zoo. The Hogle Zoo is nothing compared to the Phoenix Zoo. But it was still exciting. When I think of the Hogle Zoo I think of Madagascar. The only thing missing from that Zoo is a lion. We got to the Zoo pretty early because Mike had to work so we wanted to enjoy it instead of feeling rushed. I'm glad we got there when we did because it was packed when we left.

Jersey loves animals, she was so fun to watch. Phoenix was also funny because he is afraid of animals. He gets really nervous. I tried to take some pictures of him near the animal cages but he didn't like that at all.

They have a bird show and we sat and watched it. Jersey answered a question. The question was "What bird has been so good for man through the ages?" "a chicken" she said. So she won a to ride the little train, that is at the zoo. I have never been on the train. The train was fun but we went so fast on it that you could hardly see the animals.

It was funny because we ran into our next door neighbors at the Zoo. I saw a friend that I haven't seen in 7 years. She was an office aide for me when I worked at East High School. We had so much fun together.

I have never seen the animals so active like we saw yesterday. I don't know if it was because we got there so early and they hadn't been feed or because the weather was so nice. Either way it was nice to see the animals on the move instead of looking half dead. The tiger of course was basking in the sunlight but the Jaguar was on the move. The giraffes came up so close to us. Maybe other have but I have never seen a giraffe bend it's neck so that was a new experience for me.
