I like to celebrate almost anything. Birthdays, half birthdays, UN-celebrated holidays and of course they day we(I) were crazy enough to get two "dumb cats" Rachel and Phoebe. They are crazy cats. They don't like the kids. They will tolerate them but if they had a choose they would just run downstairs instead. They will whine to me in the morning to feed them and whine to me in the night when I get home from work to feed them. They have to sleep with us on our bed. and if you sit in their favorite chair they aren't to happy.
The story behind the two of them is that we came home from AZ and Mike said so when are we getting a cat? I thought OK it would be fun to have an animal. Jersey was little enough that they could like each other. I wanted a Himalayan cat but I wasn't about to spend $300 on one. I also like calico cats because I had grown up around one. Mike wanted a black cat with long hair. I searched in the papers for about a week and decided to go to the Humane Society, there I found the perfect cat. She was 7 weeks old, was black and had long hair. I had always heard that if you get a cat it would be a good idea to get two so the one doesn't get lonely. I was just in luck because this little kitty had a sister. She was a runt, black and had short hair. Not what I was looking for but I didn't want to see something happen to her if I took the sister. I thought what the heck let's get two. At the Humane Society they have you go in a room with the animal that you want so it can get use to you. The perfect kitty would cuddle and was quiet. The runt would meow and couldn't hold still. I thought the runty kitty would grow out of that. Mike was certainly surprised when he came home to two cats instead of one. He automatically didn't like the smaller kitty. She was quite annoying. But she still tug at my heartstrings to take her back. You never know what could have happen to her.
Even though the cats have been annoying and we are counting the years that we will have them. They are good cats.
Happy adopted day Rachel and Phoebe.
