Wow! where do I start? At church today was the Primary program. I was so excited to do Jersey's hair. It not very often that I can do that. After Sacrament They said all the Primary children come up and we told Jersey that is was time. She started in her high pitch scream and kicking about going up. Mike took her up to her seat she still was crying pretty hard. He gave the ultimate bribe. CANDY if she would go and sit in her seat. It's amazing how candy can solve all problems. (I'm wondering if we can give candy to all the terrorist and maybe we could have world peace.) So she sang her heart out, of course I cried at every song she sang. She would be moving around and catch my eye. I would give "the Look" so she would stop smile and kept on singing. My MIL was laughing because she was seeing what I was doing.
After the Primary program was over she started crying because she thought church was over. That we could go home. So again the candy was being bribed about staying in class. (Really this candy for world peace, it might work.)
Surprisingly Phoenix was "the good" child today at church. The tables turned as soon as we got home. Phoenix broke down and he brought the rain of drama. He went straight to bed. After he woke up he was still braking down and crying for things. Mike made everyone Hot chocolate and Phoenix was so mad because he wanted some but he didn't want it hot. While we were sitting around drinking our hot cocoa. I thought "Hey this is a great time to start playing a game with the kids. I got out Chutes and ladders, the kids were playing great until they started crying. Jersey thought the point of the game was to go down the big slide in the game. We told her No and she freaked. She said to Mike "Dad stop teasing me" She even showed us the box top of the game which has a little boy having a smile on his face sliding down the slide. Yeah, I think that will be the last time I bring out that game.
Granted I know this is really nothing to get excited over. Beside the meltdowns at church I just have to laugh at them when both kids will run to their rooms and slam the door. They are both so stubborn. I can't wait until they are teenagers. Oh the JOY!
