Because I was a swimming instructor for 5 years, I guess I have standards that my children would get this swimming gene that would make them fish as soon as their bodies hit the water. That they would listen to the teacher(I don't know why they don't listen to me.), swim and float so good that people would be like they are the next Olympic swimmers. Those hopes and dreams have a been put to rest for a while.
I put Jersey in swimming lessons so that she would have someone else help her with her swimming. Well it has been quite the experience trying to get her in the water has been a challenge. It's not like it's freezing but to the actress Jersey it's pure torture. I have been really frustrated and I don't know what to do. Yesterday we left lessons early because I was so mad. I know that I shouldn't be this upset but I think because I (the swim instructor) just expected her to do it.
(After today's swimming lessons)
Jersey did a real good job of listening to her teacher and swimming. She learned the arms for elementary backstroke. Monkey, Airplane, Solider. She also went down a slide at the pool. It was nice to see her do this.
Wow I was on a roller coaster of emotions. I just that is what being a mom is all about right?

I can totally sympathize because my oldest son, Gavin, had the hardest time learning to swim. He would scream, cry & negotiate his way out of everything the instructor asked him to do! I was sooo frustrated. We didn’t give up though and now after a few years he is a really good swimmer for his age! Yay! Good luck with Jersey, I know she will get it!
