obession!

I have turned into that mother that tries to get her child just what they want for Christmas. After we came home from Arizona, Jersey kept talking about she wanted a My Little Pony that had wings. She played with this pony in Arizona, so now she thought that Santa Claus was just going to bring her one too. Well for the first week I looked at all the stores checking for this specific pony. I would show her the ponies with the plastic wings but no those weren't the ones that she was telling me about. This pony had "butterfly" wings as she liked to call it. So I thought why not go on-line to see if they have it. I spent four hours on Friday afternoon searching for this pony. I didn't find the pony but I found out that this pony was the Princess of the Pegasus and she was rare fined. Once I saw that I went to E-bay. I looked then I found it. It was new in the box, with a crown and DVD. I thought this is prefect except for the price. The bidding was at $30.00. So I bid adding my bid to $33.00. I was using Mike's e-bay account, he was at work and trying to get a hold of me to stop but I couldn't. I found a used pony so I bid on that one too. By the next morning I was out bid on both ponies. Mike said that we shouldn't given to the pony madness but he wasn't the one home all day hearing about the pony with butterfly wings. I went ahead and bid more. By Sunday morning the pony that was new was up to $46.00. I knew that I could do it and win it. I was feeling lucky. Sunday night I had to work. So while at work I was bidding. I set a limit of $60.00. ( I know $60.00 that is ridiculous) I was winning the pony for most of the night. I got cocky and kept saying that I would win and get my daughter the thing she unlimitedly wanted. Then it came to the last minute and a half the lady that I was competing for the pony she out bid me by five dollars. I wanted it but I had to have some self control. So she won. I was so disappointed. I felt as if I wasn't going to be a good mom. I went to plan B. I called my Aunt Seini to see if her daughter Iolani (the one with the pony that Jersey loves so much) if Iolani still played with ponies. I described the pony to Iolani and she said "no, that Jersey could have the pony." I was so excited. I came home telling Mike that I was now a good mom. Come to find out Iolani didn't understand that Jersey was going to keep her pony and not give it back. I can understand that kids don't want to give things up. I wasn't upset with that I"m sure Jersey would have a hard time too. I thought well that was it I'm not going to worry about it. I will just tell Jersey that Santa ran out of those ponies.
My Grandma Baker called and saved the day. She and Seini went on-line and found the pony the STAR GAZER PONY!!! It was in the box with a video. Grandma bought it. I couldn't believe. I'm so happy that she did that for Jersey and I. I really never thought that I would get that way being crazy about something so small that I would pay anything for it. I know that on Christmas morning she will open it and be totally excited she will take with us everywhere. She will even sleep with it. I just hope that when she is older I can tell her how she got the pony not just about how Santa brought it to her but how her mom was a crazy person for two weeks searching. I hope next year she doesn't ask for something that I can't find. :)

That is a hilarious story! Little girls know what they want, don't they? Even big girls have the same problem.
