Christmas Reflections

So this year for my dad he wanted us kids to write to him and tell him some of our Christmas memories. Well I have to say that I use to hate Christmas as a kid because I would always ask for something that I never got. I decided it wasn't fair. My parents always got gifts for me that were practical So Dad, I have thought about this challenge to find Christmas Memories for you. I can tell you that I have thought about all the Christmas when I felt I didn't get what I really wanted. "I think about those things and see that I received practical gifts from you and mom. I see that you tried to teach me about that getting what you need not always what you want. So I will start with my memories, I couldn't think of just one memory so I thought I would tell the ones I have thinking about. My number one top memory about Christmas was the little traditions that we had. Going to see the Christmas lights, making Cheerio trees, goody plates for our neighbors, singing Christmas carols to them. I also like learning Christmas songs in Spanish and impressing everyone with what you taught us Dad. I still can't sing Far Far Away on Judas Plain without sing in Spanish. I also remember the Christmas that we got a note from Santa saying that we were going to have a new baby brother or sister come into our home. I like that memory a lot. I also remember the Christmas we came home from Poland and Martiza lived with us and I really wanted a portable CD player for Christmas but instead to my disappointment I got scriptures. Martiza got the CD player that I wanted. But I look back again and think that parents got me a practical gift because I used those scriptures and now Jersey uses them. I'm sure by now I wouldn't be using a CD player now. So basically I don't think that I really had bad Christmas like I thought when I was a kid. I guess I never new what it really meant. So Dad and Mom thanks for the great memories that you gave to me so that I can tell my kids about why we do the things we do because those are the traditions that I grew up with."
