No matter how many of the same traditions I like to do every year the out come is the same. Everyone is grumpy in the process of doing something but after while there are smiles on everyone's face and we are having a good time. Wednesday night was no exception to this rule.

After carrying Jersey into Temple Square Mike told Jersey that she had to walk. She threw an amazing tantrum. Mike was so mad he said we should have turned around when we knew she was asleep. I didn't like that retort so I picked up Jersey and talk to her. I told her that by walking she would get warm. She got down and was being nice. We went into the North visitor center and went up to see the Christus. It was beautiful. Jersey was so amazed she walked up to it and tried to touch a toe. After we meandered back down to the grounds of Temple Square we looked at more lights then we made a pit stop in the South visitor center. The kids were amazed at all the activities they had there. When that was through we walked to the front of the temple. looking at the reflecting pool and seeing the Manger scene in the snow. It was so nice. I asked Mike if he would stand for a family picture. His response, We take the same picture every year when we come down town. Talk about you Bah hum bug. The kids were nicer and they let me take pictures of them. They were playing in the snow trying to throw snow on us.
I wanted to go see the Christmas lights down at Temple Square. For some reason I always think that it will be different there will be more lights(like the AZ temple) and I will be warm. I should honestly stop kidding myself.

Mike came home from work and the kids and I were ready to go. Mike sister dropped by unexpectedly but that is OK because I love when we have visitors. We never get enough. So by the time she had left it was about 7:30pm. We still had plenty of time to go downtown. Mr. Scrooge didn't think that we would. So we bundled up real warm and got in the car. Within 10 minutes Jersey was asleep. But this wasn't going to stop me from seeing the lights. Mike asked it if we could just go to Gardner Village to see the lights. I gave a VETO to that idea. It wasn't the same if we went to Gardner Village and saw little elves. I wanted the kids to see the representation of Jesus in this holiday showing of lights. So on our way to Temple Square. When we got there everywhere was packed. Jersey was MAD because she had to wake up and even more MAD that it was cold. Phoenix thought this was the best ever. He was smiling and running around in the snow.
